Belarus intends to hold the Belarusian People’s Assembly, which will pass “a beautiful democratic plan.”

Alexander Lukashenko described “a beautiful democratic scheme” envisioned by constitutional reform and the redistribution of powers. Lukashenka spoke about this on Monday, December 7, at a meeting on the work of the economy, his press service reported.

“In this case, here is the most democratic scheme, in all democratic states it is exactly like that: the government introduced, the parliament agreed; if it is a law, the head of state signs it or rejects it, if the established principles are violated by the Belarusian People’s Assembly, “Lukashenko said.

He pointed out that during the next five years, the basic principles of the country’s operation will be established by this people’s congress.

“An absolutely transparent, beautiful and democratic scheme,” Lukashenko summed up.

It was previously reported that Lukashenka will initiate the Belarusian People’s Congress, however, its date is currently unknown. The Belarusian opposition fears that Lukashenka will try to legitimize his power with his help.

Let us remind you that the Belarusian opponent Maria Kolesnikova called Lukashenka’s proposed constitutional reform “an attempt by the regime to deceive the people.”

Earlier, opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya presented six scenarios for Belarus. At the same time, the Belarusian opposition considers that only two of the proposed scenarios are stable for the country.
