Yevgeny Golubev was involved in several criminal cases, accused of vandalism and theft, the source claims.
On the night of December 4, a citizen of Ukraine, a resident of the Sumy region, Yevgeny Golubev, died on the territory of Russia. This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to its own source in law enforcement agencies on Monday, December 7.
According to the interlocutor, this man born in 1993 is well known to local law enforcement officials. Golubev was involved in several criminal cases, accused of vandalism and theft. He often traveled to the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, bordering Ukraine, where he had friends. As his acquaintances say, he repeatedly threw parties on the lakes “for his friends” who love to fish.
At the same time, the interlocutor pointed out that despite the murdered man’s criminal record, the truth is that representatives of the Russian FSB killed a civilian and did not show any evidence of his aggressive actions during the arrest.
“The interlocutor points out that smugglers generally do not carry weapons with them, at most a thermal imaging camera. In case of arrest by the Russian border guards, it is easier to ‘negotiate’ with them for money than to organize the shooting. Thus, as the source suggests, a citizen of Ukraine Yevgeny Golubev is Russian, he became an accidental victim of border guards, and his subsequent “promotion” of the scene of a “heroic” operation at the border seems an attempt to hide the responsibility of FSB officials for the murder of a civilian, “says the message.
It is likely, says the interlocutor, that in the near future the Russian border guards will demonstrate weapons that supposedly belong to Golubev, or even publish photographs of his body in military uniform.
So far, the Russian side has not published data on the shooting of a citizen of Ukraine.
The publication has already made official inquiries to the National Police and the State Border Service of Ukraine with a request to confirm the identity of the deceased and comment on the circumstances of the incident.
We will recall, on December 4, the FSB of the Russian Federation announced a shooting on the border with Ukraine. The Russian border guards reportedly suppressed an attempt to breach the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation by three unknown armed men. As a result of the shooting, one of them was killed and two fled to the territory of Ukraine.
In turn, the State Border Service of Ukraine found no violations of the border with the Russian Federation. The department said the Russians did not provide information about the alleged death in a shooting at the border that night.
