Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that over the past week, the number of COVID-19 cases has dropped significantly. He explained what contributed to this dynamic.

This was reported by the press service of the Presidency.

A traditional conference call was held today, chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is indicated that from November 30 to December 6, 89,322 patients were found, and the week before the last there were 96,936.

“7.6 thousand fewer people became ill. At the same time, the number of tests has remained virtually unchanged and ranges from 280-290 thousand weekly tests,” Shmygal said.

According to him, these indicators were influenced by the introduction of the weekend quarantine, as well as tougher fines for remaining without masks in public places and transport.

We will recall, the head of the Kiev State Consumer Service Oleg Ruban said that in the capital there is no decrease in the level of hospitalization of patients with coronavirus. The weekend quarantine did not have the desired effect.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, the head of the Ministry of Health Maxim Stepanov said that the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 is decreasing in Ukraine. Last week, 1,500 fewer patients were hospitalized than the previous week.

So, in Ukraine, 8641 new cases of the coronavirus disease COVID-19 were detected.
