The Russian barge “Fortuna” will continue the construction of the scandalous Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2”.

The Russian propaganda agency RBC writes about this with reference to the navigation advisory announced by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany.

In response to a request from the agency, the construction project company confirmed information on the resumption of the gas pipeline.

“In the Baltic Sea, south of the shallow water area of ​​Adlergrund, the Fortuna ship will carry out submarine operations in the pipeline from December 5 to 31,” the text of the document is quoted.

Today, according to MarineTraffic, the ship is in the German port of Wismar.

On November 28, Reuters wrote that the Russian company intends to resume laying pipes in Germany’s exclusive economic zone in 2020. The Kremlin plans to build another 2.6 km of the gas pipeline.

Nord Stream 2: what is known

  • The Nord Stream 2 project envisages the construction and operation of two branches of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany.

  • The founder of Nord Stream 2 AG is the Russian Gazprom. The project is financed by European companies: French Engie, Austrian MVNO, British-Dutch Shell, German Uniper and Wintershall.
  • According to media reports, the newly elected president of the United States, Joe Biden, intends to do everything possible to prevent Nord Stream 2 from being built.
