The German authorities have revealed who will lay the pipes on the German section of the Nord Stream 2 submarine gas pipeline. This will be the Fortune barge.

This was reported by RBC.

The specialized barge “Fortuna” sails under the Russian flag. It is specified that in the Baltic Sea the ship “Fortuna” will carry out submarine operations in the pipeline from December 5 to 31.

Currently “Fortuna” is located in the German port of Wismar.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that Germany has a dialogue with the administration of President-elect Joe Biden on Nord Stream 2. Relations between countries in general should improve.

It was also reported that Nord Stream 2 AG, the operator of Gazprom-owned Nord Stream 2, will resume laying pipes in German waters on December 5. For this, the Russian ship “Akademik Chersky” is used.
