The weekend quarantine was effective – Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video message assuring Ukrainians that the government would not announce a shutdown in December. The authorities decided to give companies the opportunity to work and “not spoil the holidays.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video in which he spoke about “the main victories of the week”. In particular, the head of state said there would be no closure in December.

“I believe and hope that we do not need it today. We weigh all the pros and cons … we received guarantees from the Ministry of Health regarding the control of the situation in hospitals and I recommended that the Prime Minister of Ukraine not announce a closure in December “Zelensky said.

According to him, the weekend quarantine was effective: the number of coronavirus cases in the country has decreased.

“The medical system did not allow knockout blows, so he will resist,” said the president.

He added that the government provides an opportunity for businesses to function and “not waste December, one of the most profitable months of the year.” In addition, the head of state promised the Ukrainians “not to spoil the holidays.”

“Will it be (closure, – ed.) In January? We’ll see. If it does, it won’t be as scary as some paint it,” Zelensky emphasized, adding that the people’s deputies voted for bills that will help citizens and companies that are stranded by the pandemic.

“Compensation, debt cancellation, tax breaks. All of this will work for the near future,” Zelensky said.

The president also asked Ukrainians to wear appropriate protective masks and stay home at the slightest symptoms of the disease.

Recall that Zelensky clarified which of the FOP will not receive 8 thousand. Entrepreneurs will receive compensation if their type of activity is not subject to quarantine, works for more than three months and does not have large tax arrears.

We also add that, according to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the blockade will not affect travel abroad.
