China planted its flag on the moon
Previously, an unmanned station with lunar soil samples successfully abandoned Earth’s natural satellite.
Chinese spaceship Chang’e-5 installed the national flag of the People’s Republic of China on the surface of the moon. This was announced on December 4 by the Center for Moon Exploration and Space Programs of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), writes TASS.
The organization’s WeChat page indicates that the flagpole is made of a special material and weighs only 12g.
In the photo sent Chang’e-5, the flag is visible, attached to the automated tentacle of the apparatus.
We will remember, last week, the Chinese launch vehicle Changzhen-5 successfully put an automatic vehicle into orbit Chang’e-5, which should deliver about two kilograms of lunar rock to Earth on approximately December 17.
If the mission is successful, China will become the first country in 44 years to implement a project to transport geological samples from the lunar surface.
