In Russia, the heads of two Ukrainian organizations, the Organization of the Volunteer Movement of Ukrainian Nationalists, Nikolai Kokhanivsky, and the Black Committee, Bohdan Tytsky, were brought to criminal responsibility.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, in 2018 a criminal case was opened against them after the publication on the Internet of a video in which the Ukrainians urged them to participate in an anti-Russian action at the Russian Center for Culture and Kiev Science to stop their work.
According to the Russian investigation, Kokhanivsky and Titsky led a group of activists who threw stones at the building, smashed windows, damaged the building’s facade and doors, thus causing “material damage and disrupting the normal functioning of the organization.”
“The actions of Kokhanivsky and Titsky were qualified by the investigation as public calls for terrorist activities using the Internet (part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as the organization and directing of an attack on the offices of persons who enjoy international protection in order to complicate international relations. (Part 3 of Art. 33, Part 2 of Art. 360 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) Titsky is also accused of desecrating the State Flag of the Russian Federation (Art. 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), “says the message.
The RF IC noted that the investigation took the necessary steps to organize an international search for Kokhanivsky and Titsky.
