The draft US defense budget includes expanded sanctions against Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream.
The draft US defense budget for 2021 includes the extension of sanctions to the Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream pipelines. It was approved by both houses of Congress. TASS reports.
The House of Representatives bill reportedly contains a provision supplementing a subsection of the 2019 European Energy Security Act to clarify and expand sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 and Turkish Stream gas pipeline projects.
“The Senate amendment contains the same provision. The Senate withdraws the amendment, which allows the president to waive the application of sanctions to a person if it is in the national interest of the United States,” the statement said.
Before that, it became known that the new US sanctions on Nord Stream-2 will affect 120 companies.
