In 2021, Ukraine plans to build and repair almost 7 thousand kilometers of roads.

The cost of basic materials for road construction in 2020 remained almost unchanged.

In Ukraine this year, the average cost of 1 km of current average road repairs increased to UAH 11,193 million, 91.6% more than in 2019. At the same time, the cost of reconstruction per 1 km decreased by 44, 7% and construction, 14.3%. Such data, which cites information from ProZorro, was reported by the executive director of the transparency initiative CoST Ukraine, Svyatoslav Abramov, during a briefing, Interfax-Ukraine reports on Thursday, December 3.

Thus, the average cost of 1 km of construction of new roads amounted to 90,216 million UAH (-14.3%), reconstruction – 36,061 million UAH (-44.7%), revision – 25,184 million UAH ( + 4%).

According to Abramov, the current average repair is close to revision in terms of quality of performance and scope of work. In addition, the cost has increased due to the increase in the number of works, including the strengthening of the base.

At the same time, CoST Ukraine added that the cost of the main materials used in road construction practically did not change in 2020.

Therefore, the cost of bitumen 60/90 (as of October 2020) was reduced by 12% and amounted to 13.9 thousand UAH; Bitumen emulsion – fell by 8% and amounted to 14.7 thousand UAH; modified bitumen emulsion – fell by 2% and amounted to 17 thousand UAH; stone-crushed sand mixture С5 – increased by 6% and amounted to 584 UAH; stone-crushed sand mixture С7 – increased by 1% and amounted to UAH 604; asphalt concrete mix – fell by 1% and amounted to 2.6 thousand UAH; crushed stone putty asphalt mixture – did not change and amounted to 3.4 thousand UAH.

“If we talk about the current average repair cost, the work was done for a reason: they cut the asphalt and rolled something from above, but they really strengthened the foundation, equipped the lighting, the barrier fence. And that’s all. there are in Prozorro, they need to be analyzed, and we will continue looking for ways to automate everything. But the work was paid for a reason, “Oleksandra Azarkhina, head of the Reform Support Team headed by Ukravtodor, commented during the briefing.

Earlier it was reported that 150 billion hryvnia were allocated to the draft state budget for 2021 for road construction. With this money they plan to build and repair almost 7 thousand kilometers of roads.

BP was also reported to have allowed more local borrowing for highway repairs. At the same time, the law provides for the reduction of the cost of housing and communal services and the protection of the environment.
