The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is confident that electricity for the population should rise in price.

According to him, the current figures, when individuals pay 90 kopecks per kilowatt (for the first 100 kilowatts of consumption), they are extremely low.
As the newspaper writes, a price hike is likely to be expected in the first half of 2021.
According to Boyko, the state electricity producers (Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo) should supply cheap electricity to the population. And this greatly hinders the establishment of market rules by which the entire civilized world operates.
“We are faced with an objective need to review approaches to rate formation for domestic consumers and we have this: companies pay more, people pay less. companies, “says Boyko.
How much do ukrainians pay
In Ukraine, the price of electricity for the population has not changed since 2017 and is 90 kopecks. for 1 kWh with consumption up to 100 kWh, and above that – 1 UAH 68 kopecks. per kWh.
At the same time, for industrial consumers, electricity prices are set on the basis of market mechanisms and range from 2.5 to 4 UAH per kWh.
Rate increase
