Head coach of the Hungarian “Ferencvaros” Sergey Rebrov shared his impressions of the defeat to Barcelona (0: 3) in the Champions group stage match.
“After the first 25 minutes, I was disappointed, because in training we practiced those situations, from which in the end we scored goals. In the second half, we focus better on our own game. We knew it would be a miracle to score against Barcelona. We have to keep working and preparing for our last game of the group stage.
What did I talk about with the players during the break? We managed to forget the first 30 minutes. We try to hold the ball more. Even during the break, I asked my players to try their football and it worked. We try to create situations, but it is very difficult to play against a rival as strong as Barcelona. This match also gave us an important experience before the last fight with Dynamo Kiev.
It’s great for the country that Ferencváros is back in the Champions League after so many years, and it’s a shame that the club has to do it in such a beautiful stadium without spectators. I think the results would have been completely different if we had played every game in crowded stands, ”Rebrov said after the game.
