Mikitasu and seven other defendants are accused of orchestrating a scheme that inflicted more than UAH 81 million in damage to the National Guard.

In this case, the property of the suspects has already been arrested for more than 300 million hryvnias, and bail of 30 million hryvnias has been collected.

Former MP and former head of construction company Ukrbud Maxim Mikitas Mikitas reimbursed UAH 50 million for damages in the case of an apartment scam for the National Guard. The total amount of damage was determined at 81.64 million hryvnia, according to the National Anti-Corruption Office (NABU) on Wednesday, December 2.

It is indicated that in this case the property of the suspects was arrested for more than 300 million hryvnias, and a bail of 30 million hryvnias was recovered for violating the duties imposed on the suspect.

Mikitasu and seven other defendants are accused of organizing a scheme that inflicted damage to the National Guard in the amount of 81 million UAH. As you know, the parties signed an agreement on the construction of a residential complex on the territory of the former military unit in Pechersk. In exchange for an area of approximately 1 hectare in the center of Kiev, the National Guard was to receive 50 apartments and 30 parking spaces in the residential complex.

But in 2016-2017, the parties signed additional agreements, according to which NSU rejected apartments and parking spaces in Pechersk in exchange for 65 apartments in a house on the outskirts of Kiev. The cost of these apartments turned out to be almost 81.64 million hryvnia less than the cost of the apartments, which the National Guard should have received at the start of the deals.

On the eve of Maxim Mikitas, the third suspicion in this case was announced – the provision of illegal benefits to ensure the issuance of an inaccurate written opinion of a forensic expert (part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
