Now the incidence rate of influenza and ARVI is 9.1% higher than in the same period last season.
The epidemic threshold for the incidence of influenza was exceeded in Ukraine by 8.6%, during the week 199,277 people became ill with ARVI, reported the press service of the Ministry of Health on Wednesday, December 2.
“During the last week in Ukraine, 199,277 people fell ill with ARVI, of which 39.5% are children under 17 years of age. The intensive incidence rate is 524.5 per 100 thousand inhabitants, which is 8.6% more than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine, ”says the report.
It should be noted that a sporadic geographical spread of influenza has been recorded in Ukraine.
Based on the results of laboratory tests using PCR, influenza viruses were identified in 5 of 16 material samples: 1 – type A (H1) pdm09, 3 – type B.
It is also observed that the incidence rate of influenza and ARVI is 9.1% higher than in the same period last season.
At the same time, from September 28 to November 22, 3.4% of the country’s population fell ill, 1.5% of the patients were hospitalized, of which 7486 were under 17 years of age. There were 203 cases among patients with ILI, among them four samples were positive for SARS-CoV-2, another eight samples were positive for SARS-CoV-2 among patients with SARI.
During the week, 17,644 people were vaccinated against influenza. And since the beginning of the epidemic season: 101,145 people. In this epidemic season, 665 thousand doses of the vaccine must be delivered.
According to the World Health Organization, measures against the coronavirus have proven effective in the fight against seasonal flu. The spread of this disease has been significantly reduced.
