Jens Stoltenberg ruled out the possibility of a NATO mediation
Jens Stoltenberg did not reveal the details of the meeting in which the Hungarian foreign minister raised the issue of the SBU’s records in Transcarpathia.
Ukraine and Hungary must resolve the conflict in Transcarpathia bilaterally. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this in a briefing following the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Alliance countries, Evropeyskaya Pravda reports on Wednesday, December 2.
It is reported that Stoltenberg did not disclose the details of the meeting at which the Hungarian Foreign Minister raised the issue of the searches carried out by the SBU in Transcarpathia. However, he ruled out the possibility of a NATO mediation to resolve the dispute.
“It is well known that there is a bilateral dispute between Hungary and Ukraine, and I hope that both countries can resolve this bilateral dispute,” said the Alliance secretary general.
He noted that despite the dispute between the countries, NATO can continue to strengthen the partnership with Ukraine, supporting it.
“Today’s meeting demonstrates just that,” Stoltenberg said.
Let us remind you that today Hungary complained to NATO about Transcarpathia. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyjarto informed his NATO colleagues of the searches for officials of one of Transcarpathia’s charitable foundations and asked them to show solidarity with Budapest.
It was previously reported that the deputies of the Syurt Rural United Territorial Community, after taking the oath, sang the Hungarian anthem. The corresponding video was posted online.
Shortly after, a video appeared in which at the entrance to the city of Beregovo a man in camouflage clothing against the background of the symbols of the Right Sector threatens the Transcarpathian Hungarians.
