Ilham Aliyev believes that France has done nothing in the Minsk Group
The term “Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” is a thing of the past, the president of Azerbaijan is convinced.
During his speech to the people, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev suggested that France hand over the city of Marseille to the Armenians living there and create a “second state” for them. RIA Novosti reported on this on Tuesday, December 1.
Aliyev therefore wondered what relationship the French parliament has with the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh.
“How many years has France been co-chair of the Minsk Group? Has it done anything? Has it taken a practical step to solve this problem? And now, once the problem is solved, look at what is happening? The French Senate adopts a resolution that Nagorno-Karabakh If you like them, then, I said during the war, give the city of Marseille, change its name, create a second state for them there. But no one can interfere in our affairs, “Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani president also said that the term “Nagorno-Karabakh conflict” is now a thing of the past, and should be used only when talking about history.
Let us remind you that on November 25 the French Senate voted in favor of a resolution that recognizes the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. The document was supported by 305 of 306 senators.
In this regard, the Azerbaijani parliament protested to the French authorities and called for Paris to be excluded from the list of co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Later, the French Foreign Ministry said that Paris did not officially recognize the self-proclaimed Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.
