In Ukraine, due to the introduction of a stricter quarantine, restrictions on the operation of public transport are possible. At the same time, there should be no public transport stops within the country.
Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy stated this in a briefing.
According to him, it is possible to impose restrictions on the operation of transport, in particular, on the number of passengers in the cabin.
“Restrictions can be discussed, but in principle all transport will work – intraregional, interurban, urban and all other types of transport. Public transport, rail, air transport – their work will not stop,” Krikliy added.
The minister said the government is now holding consultations on specific dates for a possible shutdown.
“I will not say if there will be a complete lockdown, consultations are ongoing. But the transport will not stop. I will insist on this as Minister of Infrastructure,” Krikliy emphasized.
We will recall, earlier, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, said that he would insist on the work of the metro and public transport in case of a closure.
Furthermore, RBC-Ukraine wrote that Verkhovna Rada awaits a decision from the Cabinet of Ministers to tighten the quarantine until December 4.
