The joint Russian-Turkish center will oversee the observance of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The heads of the Defense Ministries of Russia and Turkey signed on Tuesday, December 1, an agreement on the establishment of a Joint Center for Armistice Monitoring in Nagorno-Karabakh, reports the Turkish Defense Ministry.

“Negotiations on technical details related to the creation and operating principles of the Turkish-Russian Joint Center have been completed, an agreement has been signed,” the statement said.

Currently, work is being done to start the early operation of the center.

The center will be located on the territory of Azerbaijan. It will monitor compliance with the truce in the region.

Let us remind you that on December 1, the Lachin region passed under the control of Azerbaijan, except for the 5-kilometer corridor. On November 20, the Aghdam region came under the control of Baku, and on November 25, the Kelbajar region.
