Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that starting on December 1 on weekdays in Turkey, the country-wide curfew will begin to operate and a complete ban on going out on weekends was introduced.

The restrictions also introduce a ban on going out on weekends, from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Erdogan added.

The curfew will not apply to workers in various sectors, including manufacturing, purchasing, healthcare and agriculture, he said.

He added that markets, grocery stores, butchers and grocery stores will be able to provide home and weekend delivery services. Restaurants can only work for delivery.

The President stressed that under the new restrictions, people under 20 and over 65 are prohibited from using public transport.
