Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday, November 30. Cooperation issues between countries in various fields were discussed.
This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
During a conversation with the Turkish leader, Shmygal stressed the importance of completing negotiations on the conclusion of a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Turkey.
“Considering the proximity factor and the volume of trade between our countries, Ukraine is interested in concluding an ambitious and comprehensive agreement to maximize its potential,” said the prime minister.
Shmygal also told Erdogan that the Ukrainian government is awaiting the third meeting of the Ukrainian-Turkish working group on public-private partnership. The prime minister hopes that this meeting will take place in the near future.
In addition, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of the military-industrial complex and agreed to coordinate efforts to combat the pandemic and its consequences for the economies of the countries.
We will recall, before that, that Prime Minister Shmygal met with the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey. We are talking about commercial and economic cooperation between countries.
