The Servants of the People faction lacks support for President Volodymyr Zelensky’s bill to resolve the constitutional crisis in Ukraine. The opinions of the people’s deputies were divided.
This was stated by the head of the party, Alexander Kornienko, in an interview with hromadske.
He noted that he personally supports the bill, which the President presented to the Rada a month ago as urgent. At the same time, it will be difficult for the faction to make a final decision.
“Our party is diverse. There are different thoughts in it. Right at that moment a situation arose in which opinions were divided and it was difficult to make a final decision. Especially if we are talking about a faction that is even more colorful than the party.” . Kornienko said.
He also stressed that we are talking about an initiative of the president, and not about support for Zelensky as a whole.
“I don’t pretend to talk about the number of votes, but it seems to me that there are not enough in our faction to vote. And outside there is no support for various reasons,” Kornienko added.
According to him, the parliament will gradually come to an agreement to resolve the constitutional crisis.
“This week we will take the first step. It will be related to the return of responsibility for declaring. It is about the return of the so-called Article 366. The next step will be to return the entire declaration mechanism,” the party’s head underlined.
Recall that at the end of October, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized unconstitutional criminal responsibility for inaccurate declaration, which blocked the work of the NAPK. In response, President Zelensky submitted to the Rada a bill on the termination of the powers of all judges of the Constitutional Court.
The head of the CCU said that he sees in this proposal to Zelensky signs of a constitutional coup. The country began to speak of the beginning of the constitutional crisis.
RBC-Ukraine wrote that the OP believes that three important steps must be taken to overcome the constitutional crisis in Ukraine.
