Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said his department did not plan to recommend that the government extend the weekend quarantine regime, which ended last weekend.
Said this on the air “Ukraine 24”.
When asked about the possibility of extending the weekend quarantine, the official replied: “I don’t think we will make such an offer.”
Then Stepanov added that the results of the quarantine and its effectiveness could be evaluated next week.
“We will see the final results next week, how all the weekend quarantines worked without exception during the three weekends that were. But I want to say unequivocally that we remember what the first weekend was like when, to put it mildly, the weekend quarantine was not observed.However, we see a trend towards a decrease in growth dynamics … We did not achieve the effect that originally we expected, the Ukrainians did not comply with the quarantine in its entirety, as we prescribed, ”said the minister.
He explained the ability to assess the weekend quarantine no earlier than the middle of this week due to the fact that the incubation period for coronavirus infection is 14-21 days.
