On November 15, 2020, the second round of the presidential elections was held in Moldova, Sandu received 57.72% support voters, his opponent, the current president of the country Igor Dodon – 42.28%.
Sandu is 48 years old. He is an economist by training. He started his official career in 1994 year – was the lead specialist in one of theDepartments of the Ministry of Economy of Moldova. IN 1998–2005 worked in the World Bank office in Chisinau, then returned to Ministry of Economy. In 2010-2012 he lived in the United States, was Advisor to the Executive Director of the World Bank.
In 2012–In 2015, Sandu served as Moldova’s Minister of Education (she advocated the widespread study of English and offered to teach Russian as an option.)
In 2016 Box participated in the presidential elections. He reached the second round, but lost to Dodon (47.89% of voters voted for Sanda, 52.11% for Dodon).
