The whole world is fighting for international loans in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, said David Arahamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.
The coronavirus pandemic prevented Ukraine from balancing the state budget. This was announced on November 28 on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24 by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the head of the Servants of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada David Arakhamia.
“We live in debt. Well, unfortunately, 10 years led to this. Maybe more than 10 years. And this is now a coronavirus. If it weren’t for the coronavirus, it would be possible to reach some kind of quantum leap, some kind of anti-crisis, a program. that would reduce [дефицит бюджета]… And today, since everyone is fighting for this borrowed money, the situation is very difficult for everyone, ”he said.
The people’s deputy criticized the proposals of the “fatalists” to declare a default in Ukraine and, instead of returning the money from international loans, “reinvest somewhere inside.”
“So just people think that they just linearly believe that there is 700 billion to be paid, they don’t understand that as soon as you declare at least one pre-default status, how much will it collapse. Big corporations, companies, jobs, etc. all of this will lead to uncontrollable chaos in general. However, there are many opponents in parliament who want and deliberately and unintentionally push and believe this story: let’s forgive all our debts, “explained Arahamia.
The proposed state budget for 2021 was published on September 14. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on November 5 adopted the draft at first reading.
In the initial version, budget revenue was forecast at the level of 1,071 trillion UAH, expenditures – 1,350 trillion UAH. In the version approved for the second reading, revenue increased to UAH 1.092 trillion, expenditures decreased to UAH 1.328 trillion.
