Ukrainian companies will not be able to organize a full cycle of ammunition production in the coming years.
There is no more ammunition industry in Ukraine, said the new director of Ukroboronprom Igor Fomenko in an interview with RBK-Ukraine, published on Monday, November 30.
“Starting from small to large sizes. Now all this is bought. Of course, warehouse leftovers are also used, but among them are those whose useful life is ending, sometimes they lose their characteristics during their stay in warehouses, “said the official.
According to him, there are no companies left in Ukraine that can organize a full cycle of ammunition production in the next two years.
“There is no complete production cycle … There are also no projects for the production of small-caliber ammunition within the Ukroboronprom companies,” said Fomenko.
At the same time, he said that they are currently undergoing training and need to restock.
“Therefore, everything that can be produced in Ukraine must be done, because we have a high production and scientific and technical potential. For example, the Luch design office,” Fomenko noted.
As you know, the Cabinet plans to reform Ukroboronprom. The company’s businesses will be divided into nine holding companies, some of which will become part of a state-owned company under the provisional name of Defense Systems of Ukraine.
