Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused Ukraine of trying to “strangle” Belarus. This information appears to be contained in the materials of the Belarusian State Security Committee.
He stated this in a meeting with the staff of one of the hospitals in Minsk, BelTA reports.
According to him, the KGB reports contain information about the conversation of Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba with his German colleague Heiko Maas, who allegedly discussed sanctions to paralyze state activities, business and production in Belarus.
“What do they want? Even the Russians have always been offended by me:” Why do you support the Ukrainians? Lukashenka noted.
He stressed that a center of information influence on Belarus had allegedly appeared near Kiev.
“Ordinary people treat us very well, humanely, because we treat them like a brother. But what cynicism: we are late, we have to strangle Belarus faster,” Lukashenka added.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has already reacted to his remarks.
“No such words were heard in our conversations with Heiko Maas. I am fundamentally against ‘strangling’ Belarus, its business and production. On the contrary, I am in favor of letting Belarus breathe freely,” he wrote on his Twitter.
We will recall, earlier Lukashenko criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for Kiev’s position on the situation in Belarus, and also threatened to impose sanctions.
It was also reported that he ruled out flight from the country in the event of a change of government.
