The head of the Kiev State Consumer Service, Oleg Ruban, said that the weekend quarantine did not give an effective result in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. It considers it necessary to introduce a lock in the near future.

Ruban said this on the air of “Ukraine 24”.

According to him, it is not advisable to now consider the situation in individual regions.

“This should be a one-size-fits-all solution across the country. It is necessary to introduce a nationwide lockdown in the near future. The weekend quarantine has not shown results in terms of efficiency,” Ruban said.

We will recall, previously the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, said that the effectiveness of the weekend quarantine can be evaluated next week.

Also RBC-Ukraine wrote that the Office of the President will consider introducing a blockade in one week. By then, it will be clear whether the weekend’s quarantine was effective.

Note that yesterday the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, spoke in favor of the immediate introduction of a radical blockade in Ukraine for at least three weeks.

At the same time, Stepanov said there is still no reason to introduce a strict quarantine.
