The budget for the current year lacks the three billion dollars expected to be received from external lenders.
Until the end of the year, Ukraine’s budget lacks $ 3 billion. This figure was announced by Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko in an interview with BBC News Ukraine.
At the same time, he assured that the government has “a plan in case of events A, B and C – how we act, how to finish this year, so that we fully finance all the expenses foreseen in the budget.”
The minister explained the shortage of three billion dollars due to the fact that Ukraine has not yet received external loans, on which it had counted.
“I’m not wearing pink glasses and I’m not hanging up, as they say (noodles), I don’t want to deceive you. Not everything is so simple with us. There are delays, difficulties … And we are thinking about how to close this month, how to finance the next. I’m not fooling anyone, I’m just saying that it happened that we haven’t received a significant amount of funding so far. We are talking about more than $ 3 billion, which was included in our budget, “said Marchenko.
Note that in October, the budget deficit increased by 30 billion hryvnia, and since the beginning of the year – by 112 billion.
