Georgia is imposing a strict two-month quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19, but with the promise of relaxation for the holidays. The restrictions go into effect on November 28 and last until January 31, writes Georgia Online.

Previously, the curfew was in effect in only seven cities, but now it applies to the entire country from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (with the exception of New Years and Christmas nights on December 31 and January 6 ).

In Georgia, there will be a ban on intercity passenger transport, except for taxis. Cafes and restaurants will be closed (there will only be door-to-door and take-out sales), cinemas, gyms, swimming pools, museums, kindergartens, markets, stores, shopping centers (except pharmacies, grocery stores and pet stores, household chemicals and press).

Pupils and students will move on to distance education.

Municipal transport stops working in Tbilisi, Telavi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori, Poti and Zugdidi.

Hotels can only operate in quarantined locations. The ski resorts are completely closed.

From December 24 to January 2, the restrictions will be relaxed a bit. The operation of markets, shopping centers, public transport will be allowed. Then the restrictions will return.

From January 16 to January 31, Georgia plans to introduce a weekend quarantine.

It was also reported that Ukrainians will be warned about the introduction of a lockdown 7-10 days in advance.

Before that, it became known that a lottery will decide in Israel which shopping and entertainment centers will open in quarantine. The draw will be carried out with the participation of the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Health.
