Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said about the danger of collapse of Europe due to the new mechanism of distribution of the budget of the European Union. Therefore, Poland and Hungary will continue to veto the EU budget for 2021.

This was discussed at today’s joint press conference between Moravetsky and the head of the Hungarian government Viktor Orban in Budapest, Ukrinform reports.

“Today we are faced with a new challenge: a completely new mechanism, which … is a politically motivated decision and may lead to the division, and possibly the collapse of the EU,” said the Polish prime minister.

The new mechanism for allocating the EU budget, according to Morawiecki, is politically motivated and violates the rule of law.

“This is very dangerous for the unity of the whole of Europe. It is a bad decision that threatens the collapse of Europe,” he said.

Morawiecki added that Poland and Hungary do not want the EU to deviate from its course, which is that 27 countries have 27 different legal norms and traditions.

“We will not hesitate to use the veto, not only for the good of Hungary and Poland, but for that of the entire EU,” stressed the Polish prime minister.

Please note that Poland and Hungary have blocked the adoption of the EU budget for 2021. The countries oppose a new mechanism for distributing the European budget among participating countries.

Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban threatened EU leaders with a veto of the budget in early November. In a letter to the union leadership, he stated his position.
