Ukraine will not receive money from the IMF this year
Ukraine does not have time to comply with all the requirements of the Fund. Although initially the IMF promised two tranches for two laws, but later presented additional requirements.
The IMF will not provide Ukraine with the second tranche this year, as Kiev physically does not have time to complete all the necessary procedures. The first deputy director of the National Bank, Ekaterina Rozhkova, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian radio.
According to her, the program itself, in which Ukraine works with the IMF, foresees certain stages. These stages foresee a period in which the IMF assesses how Ukraine has fulfilled its obligations and only after that allocates a certain tranche.
“So the stage that we are getting closer to is watching the show. Only after that is possible and there will be a stretch. What Timofey (Milovanov – ed.) Said – said that we physically don’t have time to get money on this This it is also true, because the Fund has procedures, how long does it take to review, how many documents are prepared, when are they presented to the board of directors. Only after the funds are allocated. Therefore, since we are with you today, It is almost December 1, and we know that the Christmas holidays in Europe start on December 25, followed by the New Year holidays; we physically do not have time to complete this procedure with the receipt of money this year, “said Rozhkova .
Earlier, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President, Tymofiy Mylovanov, said that this year Ukraine will not receive the tranche from the IMF.
Initially, to allocate two tranches, Kiev had to pass a law on the land market and on banks, but the IMF proposed a series of requirements for the second tranche.
