As of today, there are no plans to introduce a strict quarantine in Ukraine, the so-called blockade. The Ministry of Health sees no basis for such a decision.

This was announced on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24 by the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov.

“No one is going to introduce a blockade in the country from tomorrow. If we are talking about a strict quarantine, then this is the best way to break the chain of spread of the disease. But we are focusing on the ability of the medical system to help people, “said the minister.

Stepanov explained that when the issue of introducing a blockade is discussed, the ministry is analyzing the situation with the burden on the medical system.

“If we are talking about the situation today, then we are working on a tight schedule, but today we have 50% of the beds occupied. Of course there are regions where more than 60%, but at the same time they say that tomorrow it is necessary to introduce a blockade, because the medical system does not hold, there is still no foundation, “he emphasized.

We will remember, today the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, spoke in favor of the immediate introduction of strict quarantine in Ukraine. The head of the Interior Ministry proposed to introduce restrictions for three weeks.

Before this, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the Office of the President is discussing the closing date in Ukraine before the New Year holidays, but it all depends on the epidemic situation.
