According to UNIAN sources in the Cabinet, the meeting should start at 6:00 p.m. and will be devoted to budgetary matters (probably the proposed budget for 2021).
Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers were unable to reply to UNIAN when asked whether the question of introducing a strict blockade in Ukraine would be discussed at this meeting.
Ukraine’s budget deficit
- Ukraine’s state budget for January-October 2020 was run with a deficit of 112.2 billion hryvnia, which is almost 4 times higher than the deficit for the same period last year.
- According to the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, the consolidated budget of Ukraine in January-October this year was executed with a deficit of 89.4 billion hryvnia compared to a deficit of 643.1 million hryvnia for the same period. in 2019.
- In April, the Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to Ukraine’s state budget for 2020, necessary to combat the acute respiratory disease COVID-19, and suggesting a three-fold increase in the budget deficit – to UAH 298 billion.
State budget 2021 – what is known
- On September 14, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for next year, which foresees a deficit of 6% of GDP. State budget revenue for 2021 is projected in the amount of 1 trillion 71.1 billion hryvnia, and expenditures – 1 trillion out of 350 billion hryvnia. At the same time, the budget deficit is assumed at the level of 270 billion hryvnia.
- The state budget project also provides for 104 billion hryvnia for the payment of benefits, benefits and subsidies, and overall, social spending will amount to 323 billion hryvnia.
- The vice president of the Golos faction, Zheleznyak, said that the deputies presented more than 2.4 thousand amendments to the bill on Ukraine’s state budget for 2021.
- On November 5, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft budget for 2021 at first reading.
- Today it became known that the Ministry of Finance has successfully completed negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the main parameters of the state budget project for 2021.
