The situation is deteriorating rapidly – a source in the Cabinet

The government is discussing the introduction of strict quarantine restrictions for two to three weeks. This will most likely happen around the New Year holidays, but it may happen earlier.

The Cabinet of Ministers intends to introduce a strict blockade. The exact timing of the quarantine restrictions will be known after December 2, but this is supposed to happen during the New Year holidays, Today writes, citing its source in Cabinet.

So, the Ukrainian authorities are thinking of two options for restrictions. The introduction of quarantine for two to three weeks. It is not yet known when exactly the blockade will be introduced in the country.

“The main scenario that was considered is still the introduction of a lock on the New Year holidays. But due to the fact that the situation is deteriorating rapidly, they want to change the date,” the newspaper notes, citing a source.

During the closure, movement between settlements and across the country will be limited. The government also discussed the closure of the metro and restrictions on ground transportation work.

“The subject of interurban transport is still open, to this day,” said the source.

The decision on the strict quarantine will be made due to the fact that the weekend quarantine was ineffective.

The publication notes that next week, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal will speak and tell in more detail about the new quarantine restrictions.
