Newly appointed action The Minister of Energy, Yuriy Boyko, considers that one of the important issues in the sector is the review from 2021 of the existing cross-subsidy mechanism, according to which the population receives electricity at a reduced price.

As a UNIAN correspondent reports, Boyko said this during his first briefing after his appointment.

“The next priority is to reduce cross-subsidies. Behind this phrase is the objective need to review the approaches to the formation of rates for domestic consumers. From today, even in the field of information, there are a lot of manipulative statements about the final cost of electricity for the population, “he said.

According to him, as of November, a domestic consumer pays 1 kopeck for electricity, since the current rate covers only transportation costs. In Ukraine, the weighted average cost of transporting electricity from the station to the building, including the transmission fee of NEC Ukrenergo, the fee of the distribution system operator and the fee for supplying the supplier, is 1 hryvnia 03 kopecks per kWh.

“So in total, shipping costs 1.03 UAH kopecks, and the weighted average price of one kWh for a domestic consumer over the last 2 months is statistically 1 UAH 04 kopecks. That is, in fact, under the current JI model, according to which Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo sell electricity to the Guaranteed Buyer at 1 kopeck, only the delivery is paid ”, explained the head of the department.

How much do ukrainians pay

In Ukraine, the price of electricity for the population has not changed since 2017 and is 90 kopecks. for 1 kWh with consumption up to 100 kWh, and above this – 1 UAH 68 kopecks. per kWh.

At the same time, for industrial consumers, electricity prices are set on the basis of market mechanisms and range from 2.5 to 4 UAH per kWh.
