In recent weeks there has been more and more talk about the possible resignation of the Minister of Health, Maxim Stepanov, whose main complaint is the poor organization of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
This is stated in the RBK-Ukraine material “Candidates for an exit. Is the Rada ready for resignations in the Cabinet of Ministers”.
As you know, last July, at the suggestion of the “Golos” faction, a resolution was registered in the Rada urging the Council of Ministers to consider his removal. Almost a hundred deputies from various factions, including the “Servant of the People”, signed under him.
The RBC-Ukraine source in “Golos” assures that Stepanov’s resignation is supposedly a question already resolved, he will have the support of the mono-majority deputies, and the minister may be removed from office as of next week. But Servant of the People offers more cautious forecasts.
In the ruling party, Stepanov also has many supporters; He also had the support of several renowned doctors. However, according to the publication, the Rada profile committee has an ambiguous attitude towards the minister. But this discontent has not yet passed to the public plane.
“I think we will talk about the possibility of Stepanov’s resignation after the New Year,” said the interlocutor in the single majority. His colleague also suggested that the dismissal issue be updated in case the medical system collapses. And it is the minister in this situation who will be responsible for all the problems.
At the same time, the Chief Medical Officer, Viktor Lyashko, is Stepanov’s potential successor. However, in medical circles, they began to spread information that Lyashko is a protégé of the former head of the Ministry of Health Ulyana Suprun and will continue with her initiatives, whose attitude among some doctors is twofold.
We will recall, earlier RBC-Ukraine wrote that before the New Year, most likely, there will be no resignations in the government.
