The ship is reported to have started to submerge around 4 p.m., the newspaper reports.
According to rescuers, “Amethyst” did not go live, but was on the MPSS balance sheet. They say that at the Aleksandrovka berth, metal theft has occurred for several years in a row: unknown persons removed the watertight doors and bulkheads of the ships at the berths.
The regional department of the State Emergency Service has not reported anything about the incident.
