A stock photo of Merkel with a cool cell phone early in her career has surfaced online.

A file photo of German Chancellor Angela Merkel has appeared online. In it, she is captured in an office with a phone.

The black and white frame was posted to the Historical Photos community at Twitter… In the photo, Merkel is talking on the phone. It was made, as the message says, in the 90s.

“Angela Merkel. With a great cell phone. The pager is not enough. Germany. The elegant 90s”, the frame is signed.

Note that Merkel became Chancellor of Germany 15 years ago, in 2005. She was the first woman to hold this position. Before his political career, he worked in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry of the GDR Academy of Sciences.

Note that Merkel entered politics in the 1990s, when the photo was probably taken after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1989, she joined the Democratic Awakening organization, became its press secretary a year later, and a few months later assumed the same post in the first and last non-communist government of the GDR.
