In Indonesia, the Ukrainian blogger Mikhail Oreshnikov was arrested on request for extradition from Russia. The Embassy of Ukraine in Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine assured that the blogger’s case is under the special control of the departments.

According to preliminary data, a criminal case has been opened against the blogger in Russia on charges of causing bodily harm.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oreshnikov is a citizen of the Russian Federation and has not legally formalized his resignation from Russian citizenship.
He is now at the Jakarta police headquarters and is awaiting confirmation of the extradition request from the Russian side.

Oreshnikov, a native of Cheboksary, is known for being a member of the Russian nationalist movement Restrukt and in 2014 appealed to the Ukrainian government for political asylum. He then said that a criminal case was being fabricated against him in Russia. In the same year he entered Ukraine and joined the Azov volunteer regiment.
