Dragitsa Ponorats and Emine Dzhaparova held talks in Kiev
Montenegro takes a clear position on the non-recognition of the temporary occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula by Russia.
Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova met with Montenegro’s Ambassador Dragitsa Ponorats in Kiev. Japarova invited Montenegro to join the Crimean platform, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday, November 24.
It is indicated that Ponorats announced a clear position of Montenegro on the non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea by Russia. This country also actively supports the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine and joins the European sanctions against Russia.
“Dzhaparova expressed her gratitude for the support and reported on the human rights violations and the militarization of Crimea by the Russian Federation. She also presented Ukraine’s vision on the creation of the Crimean platform and invited the Montenegrin side to join their work, “reads the message.
Earlier, the United States announced its willingness to cooperate on the Crimean platform. According to the US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine, Christina Queen, Washington’s position remains firm and unchanged: Crimea is part of Ukraine.
It was also learned that Slovenia and Great Britain supported the idea of creating the Crimean platform.
