The newly elected mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, accused his opponents of the European Solidarity political party of fraud with the appointment of the first meeting of the new city council.

He revealed the details on his Facebook page.

According to Sadovoy, the city’s electoral commission decided in the evening that the first session of the city council should be held on November 24. Although before the territorial electoral commission set a meeting for December 3.

“We performed at night, without extra eyes, without journalists, and we made a decision that has nothing to do with yesterday’s elections,” wrote Sadovy.

This means that the City Council will start working without a new mayor, as the newly elected mayor will not have time to take the oath because the TEC has not yet completed all the paperwork.

“With the swearing-in of the new council, the powers of the previous mayor are lost. The newly elected mayor will not be sworn in tomorrow, because there is a time limit for the counting of votes, as well as possible complaints and lawsuits. Therefore, the new city council will function without a new president ”, explained the mayor.

Sadovy called for such actions «usurpation of power ”, since, according to the legislation, the deputies will be able to make almost all decisions without the participation of the newly elected mayor.

“The council in such a semi-legitimate state can function for several weeks, elect governing bodies: the presidium, the acting secretary. mayor, deputy mayor, members of the executive committee, chairmen of commissions etc., make any other decision: budget, property matters, etc. Later, the new mayor will have to take responsibility for these decisions, ”said Sadovy.

The mayor of Lviv stressed that Solidarity MEP Serhiy Ivakh lobbied for the TEC to make such a decision. He also said the EU should stop «wipe your feet in the will of the people of Lviv. “

Sadovy promised to appeal this decision.

European Solidarity candidate for mayor of Lviv Oleg Sinyutka congratulated his rival Andriy Sadovy on his victory in the Lviv mayoral elections.

According to the exit poll of the Savik Shuster study, carried out by the sociological company Liberty Report, Sadovy obtained 62.8%, his competitor Oleg Sinyutka, 37.2%.

The official results of the voting must be established no later than the fifth day from the day of the repetition of the vote, that is, until November 27 inclusive.
