While the United States has been the world leader in the absolute number of coronavirus deaths since spring, experts have identified the European countries with the highest death rate from Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants. The “record holder” was the Czech Republic.
This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Health of the republic, which is based on data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Statistics showed: in the last 14 days, the majority of coronavirus deaths in the European Union in terms of 100 thousand people were registered in the Czech Republic: 23.4. Belgium ranks second with an indicator of 22.1, third – Bulgaria (17.2), fourth – in Poland (14.3) and fifth – in Slovenia (14.0).
During the last day, 3,187 infected people have increased in the Czech Republic, which is almost a thousand less than the same day of the previous week and five times less than the record daily indicators of the end of October.
In total, as of Sunday night, there are 89,536 people infected with coronavirus in the country, of which 5,421 people were hospitalized.
Earlier, “Strana” cited the latest morbidity data in Ukraine.
