Voter turnout November 22, 2020 – second round of local elections

In Ukraine, on November 22 the second round of mayoral elections is held in 12 cities. At 8:00 p.m., turnout in local elections was 29.3%.

The coordinator of the civil network Olga Aivazovskaya said on her Facebook that the participation in the cities as a whole was around 29.3%. According to the CEC, the share is approximately the same: 29.53%.

This is slightly more than during the second round of voting last week, when it was 23.9%. The error does not exceed 1.4%. The largest share in Slavyansk and Lviv:

  • Dnipro – 23.93%,
  • Nikopol – 24.20%,
  • Slavyansk – 32.40%,
  • Uzhhorod – 27.94%,
  • Berdyansk – 39.23%,
  • Lviv – 38.94%,
  • Drohobych – 30.21%,
  • Nikolaev – 28.40%,
  • Poltava – 25.52%,
  • Exactly – 30.35%,
  • Cherkasy: 26.02%.

Previously, the CEC said the turnout at 1:00 p.m. was 12.7%.

  • Lviv – 12.89%;
  • Drohobych – 11.46%;
  • Nikolaev – 12.26%;

Participation at 11:00 was only 9.7%. This is one of the lowest votes in the history of Ukraine. These data are provided by OPORA Civil Network.

The turnout at 11:00 is 9.7%, the sampling error is 0.5%. This is an integrated indicator for the cities where re-election takes place,
– said OPORA analyst Alexander Klyuzhev.

Olga Aivazovskaya, head of the network, added that the participation is representative of 11 territorial communities.

“We do not receive it from the territorial electoral commissions. In fact, we are carrying out a parallel calculation of participation,” he said.

Aivazovskaya also said that observers have not yet recorded serious violations of the electoral process.

According to Aivazovskaya, 81.17% of the polling stations started working on time. He said that in 0.42% of polling stations, voting did not start after 8:30 am.

Comparison figures:

  • In the first round of the elections on October 25 participation was 36.88%. At 12 noon it was only 12.5%.
  • In the second round in the cities where it was held on November 15, the participation was 24%. At 1:00 p.m. it was only 10.78%.
