Once again, without glasses or heads. Vorskla defeated Kolos at Poltava

Before the start of the match, the rivals were separated by a single point in the standings, so it was very important for both teams to achieve victory. Indeed, if successful, Vorskla would come close to Shakhtar Donetsk again, and Kolos’ victory allowed Ruslan Kostyshin’s players to clinch a clean third place in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Already in the first minute, the guests created a dangerous moment at the gates of the Poltava club. It was Andrei Bogdanov who unexpectedly shot into the far corner of the penalty area, but the ball flew close to the post. But the next episode, which deserved attention, had to wait more than 15 minutes. It was then that Ibrahim Kane grabbed the ball in midfield and ran with it into the Kolos penalty area. There he was detained by Yevgeny Novak only in violation of the rules. Match referee Dmitry Krivushkin showed the 11-meter mark first, but after consulting with his teammates in charge of VAR, he changed his mind and scored a free kick. Sergei Yavorsky did it, but the ball flew over the crossbar.

In the 25th minute, after Pavel Orekhovsky was cut, five Vorskla players were left with the three opponents’ defenders. Kane passed the pass down the left to David Puzlin, but he, standing one-on-one with the goalkeeper, couldn’t get past Evgeny Volynts. Four minutes after the free kick, Vladimir Chesnakov won the horse fight and hit the post with his head.

And yet the home team managed to achieve what they wanted in the 31st minute. This time Ruslan Stepanyuk edged Vitaly Gavrish down the left wing and made a successful pass to the center of the goalkeeper’s area. In the fight for the ball, Alexander Sklyar jumped higher than the others, smashing his head right in the corner of the goal.

Until the end of time, despite the efforts of the players of both teams, no more dangerous moments were created and the rivals went to rest in the stands.

Immediately after the break, Evgeniy Zadoya entered Kolos’ field, and in the 48th minute it was he who struck twice, hitting the Poltava defenders. The guests began to appeal to the referee for the ball to hit one of them. But Dmitry Krivushkin again did not award a penalty with the help of the VAR. Like, by the way, in the next episode in the 51st minute, when the ball hit Vladimir Chesnakov, who was close to his goal.

Kovalevskaya’s team kept attacking a lot, hoping to even the score, but the goal was scored by Vorskla. The defender of the Poltava club sent the ball to the lower right corner of the goal with his head.

To the guests’ credit, they continued to advance, hoping to regain at least one goal. Thus, in the 69th minute, after a dangerous shot by Alexey Zozuli, “Vorskla” was rescued by Alexander Tkachenko. In the 79th minute, Vitaly Gavrish fired a free-kick very close to the goal, but over the crossbar. And two minutes later, Yevgeny Isaenko, after a penalty, fired at point-blank range, but here the home team’s goalkeeper showed an excellent reaction.

Already in the last minute 90 of the match, Artem Chelyadin, who came on as a substitute, had to score the fourth goal against Kolos. But, having run one on one with the goalkeeper, he hit the post with the ball.
