On Sunday, November 22, the voting (the so-called second round) will be repeated in the mayoral elections in 11 cities of Ukraine. The Central Electoral Commission recalled this on Saturday, November 21.

Residents of the cities of Dnipro, Nikolaev, Lviv, Poltava, Rovno, Cherkassy, ​​Uzhgorod (Transcarpathian region), Slavyansk (Donetsk region), Berdyansk (Zaporozhye region), Drohobych (Lviv region) and Nikopol ( Dnipropetrovsk region) will have to choose one of the two candidates who entered the second round.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, on November 22, more than 2 million 754.1 thousand voters will be able to participate in the repeated voting in the mayoral elections, which will take place in 1,649 polling stations.

In addition, on November 22, in the territorial communities with the number of voters up to 10,000 in 15 regions, a repeated vote will be held in the elections of deputies of 47 local councils. More than 42.9 thousand voters may participate in it.

The results of the voting must be established no later than the fifth day from the day of the re-voting, that is, until November 27, inclusive.

The CEC reminded voters of the safety rules due to the difficult epidemiological situation. Therefore, you need to bring a mask and a pen to the site, keep your distance. If you have symptoms of a cold, you can vote in a separate booth.

During the second round of local elections, almost 10,000 law enforcement officers will be involved in guaranteeing public safety and order in the territory of the polling stations and protecting the electoral documents.

This was announced by the vice president of the National Police, Alexander Fatsevich, reports the website of the National Police.

“The response to statements and messages related to the electoral process must be prompt. The main task of the police is to ensure the safety of citizens and the holding of fair elections. We will closely monitor compliance with the rule of law on the day of elections and during the period in which the election results are established, “Fatsevich said.

At the same time, the police say that law enforcement officials have opened 1,154 criminal proceedings since the start of the election campaign (from September 5 to November 21) for local elections in Ukraine.

“The Unified Register of Preliminary Investigations contains information on 1,154 criminal proceedings: 737 were opened for violations of electoral legislation, 417 were related to the electoral process,” the National Police said in a statement this Saturday.

As reported, the second round of local elections was held on November 15 in seven Ukrainian cities. The turnout was 24%. In addition to the cities mentioned, mayors were elected in Sumy, Odessa and Lutsk.
