Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that there is evidence in the form of photographs and video documents confirming the use of mercenaries from France and the United States by Armenia during the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported on Saturday November 21 by Sputnik Azerbaijan.
“Armenia actively used foreign mercenaries. We have numerous documents with photographs and videos, we have passports of foreign citizens, in particular citizens of France, the United States, Lebanon, Canada and other countries, Georgia, ”said Aliyev.
According to him, only a part of these foreigners are of Armenian origin. “But this does not change the essence of the issue, since the participation of foreign mercenaries by Armenia, of course, is unacceptable,” concluded the leader of Azerbaijan.
The fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh began on September 27. Baku and Yerevan have accused each other of provocations, bombing settlements and attracting mercenaries from the Middle East.
On November 9, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a ceasefire declaration in Karabakh.
