History of the celebration of the day of Archangel Michael
According to ancient legends, Satan was once the most august of the heavenly spirits, which is why he was named Lucifer. But over time, he developed pride, arrogance, and anger, and this attracted many other spirits. Archangel Michael assembled an army of pious angels and went to war against Satan and his angels.
The insidious Satan could not resist and was thrown to the ground along with his army. Since then, Archangel Michael has not stopped fighting for the glory of the Creator, for the cause of the salvation of the human race.
In the popular imagination, Archangel Michael is portrayed as a brave knight who conquers all the dark forces on earth. So when thunder roars, our ancestors said: it is Archangel Michael waging war with demons. And they also say: wherever the evil one hides, the arrow of the archangel will find him everywhere.
