In Germany, a doctor was arrested on suspicion of killing COVID-19 patients.

The doctor administered medication to critically ill patients, leading to their immediate death. He said he wanted to end “the suffering of the patient and his family.”

In Essen, Germany, a doctor at a university hospital is suspected of killing two COVID-19 patients. This was reported by the police press service on Friday, November 20.

The doctor was arrested on November 18. Police suspect that he deliberately and illegally administered medication to critically ill patients late in life, resulting in immediate death. As a result of his actions, two men, aged 47 and 50, died. They died on November 13 and 17.

It is noted that the patients were treated by the suspect and were “in a very critical condition” at the time of administration of the drugs.

Now the city police have created a commission to investigate the murder and the doctor has been placed in preventive custody. He has already testified about one of the deaths, stating that with his actions he wanted to end “the suffering of the patient and his family.”

A 44-year-old physician, he has worked at the institution since February 2020. The university clinic said the patients were “in the final stages of death.” The doctor was suspended from work.

We will remember that the Portuguese Parliament previously supported the euthanasia law. Portugal could become the fourth country to be allowed to die of its own free will.

It was also reported that the Czech Republic did not support the legalization of euthanasia. The Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, as well as the Supreme Court and the country’s Conference of Catholic Bishops opposed it.
