In Moscow, a former deputy of the Odessa City Council of the Party of Regions, Oleg Markov, was arrested on suspicion of smuggling gold items that belonged to the ancient Scythians.

According to the investigation, Markov smuggled Scythian gold into Russia and tried to sell it, the exhibits cost hundreds of thousands of euros.
Among the antiquities confiscated from Markov: a necklace, an amphora, a medallion with images of ancient heroes, gold plates in the form of an image of a deer and a lion.
Note that in Ukraine, Markov is on the wanted list in the case of the assault on the regional Interior Ministry in the fall of 2013, when his brother Igor Markov was arrested.
Previously, Markov had already been arrested in Moscow, in January 2014 he had an accident; there were rumors that he had an accident under the influence of drugs.
