Fines for lack of mask in public places start tomorrow in Ukraine

In Ukraine, starting tomorrow, they will begin to fine for the lack of a mask in public places. This is provided by law, which was published today in the publication “Voice of Ukraine”.

The document takes effect the day after its publication.

The law states that they will be fined for staying in public buildings, structures, public transportation during quarantine without wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, including those made by ourselves.

The size of the fine will be from ten to fifteen minimum non-taxable income of citizens (170-255 hryvnia).

Note that tomorrow in Ukraine there will be a weekend quarantine. It will run from Saturday to Sunday. Only grocery stores, pharmacies, transportation, gas stations will work.

We will remember, earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a law on fines for the lack of a mask in public places and transport.

As RBC-Ukraine wrote, a poll by the sociological group “Rating” showed that 75% of Ukrainians support the introduction of fines for staying in public places and transporting without masks.

Before that, Justice Minister Denis Malyuska said that with the adoption of the new law on fines for violating quarantine, they would not be punished for the absence of a mask on the street.
